Rosenberger Builds Manufacturing Facility for Tesla Supplier; Completes 500,000 SF in Six Months

Rosenberger Construction has wrapped up Building 3 of the Plum Creek Logistics Center. This building will be home to a manufacturing facility for Simwon North America Corp. Simwon manufactures auto body parts for the automotive industry and will supply products to Tesla’s new Gigafactory in East Austin.

Simwon’s new manufacturing facility has a 40’ clear height throughout the structure, with a ‘pop-up’ section, that will house several crane bays, that are 58’ clear. The facility has 16,000 amps of power, a 12” thickened slab, and 2 equipment pits; one of which is 28’ deep. The project was MEP design-build and includes an ESFR sprinkler system. Most impressive of all, this 500,000 square foot tiltwall building was built in just 6 months!

Rosenberger navigated the increased challenges of material shortages, a labor market that is stretched thin, and of course, the Texas weather. All of which made this completion time frame an impressive accomplishment.

Rosenberger is excited to play a part in the rapidly expanding Central Texas industrial market.
